Flights of Fiction now available for Kindle and Nook

I've got some good news today.

Flights of Fiction

is now available for the Kindle and the Nook.

The links for all versions - including signed copies - are on the right sidebar.

Now for some less exciting news.

Like many writers, I started blogging to support my writing - networking with other writers and hopefully building a small fan base. Unfortunately, I seem to be spending more time lately on blogging, including visiting and commenting on the blogs I follow, then I am writing.  I'm sure this is due to some serious inefficiency on my part but until I get a better handle on my time management, I need to make a change.

This will be my last regular Friday blog. Starting next week, I'll be posting and visiting on Monday and Wednesday only.  I hope you'll continue to visit me on those days.

Looking ahead to this weekend,

I want to send a
Happy Father's Day
to my favorite dads.

From right to left:
my dad, my husband (my sons' dad), and my sons (my grandkids' dads).

I love you all.

I'll get to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day in person - he's coming for the weekend. How about you? Any Father's Day celebrations? Any other fun plans for the weekend?

Riddles for Today:

1 - There is a clerk at the butcher shop, he is five feet ten inches tall and he wears size 13 sneakers. What does he weigh?
2 - Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the highest mountain in the world?
3 - How much dirt is there in a hole that measures two feet by three feet by four feet?
(answers on Monday)

Congrats on the release!

Blogging is definitely time-consuming, so I'm not surprised at all that you're going to cut back on posts. I have a tendency to disappear from the blogosphere, too, whenever I need to make sure I get certain projects done!

Hey, I actually know the answers to all the riddles! But I'm not sure you want them revealed yet, so I'll keep my lips zipped. ;)

I understand about time management (I just don't know how to make it work). Wishing all in the photo a Happy Father's Day! Great riddles - thanks for the laughs.

BTW, you won Colby Marshall's book over at Thoughts. Drop back by the post to find out how to get the book.

Have a great weekend.

Oh how wonderful, congratulations to you and the other Flights of Fiction authors! And I sure can relate about the time management, I can't seem to find a balance at all.

Happy weekend to you and your family, enjoy the FD celebrations. :)

Congratulations!
I can relate to the less time for writing.

I only know the answer to the #2 riddle, which seems obvious to me, which also leads me to believe that the other two riddles have obvious answers which my brain cannot seem to locate in the muddle of my mind!

I know the answers!!!! Does that make me smart?

Understand about the Friday posting. Heck, I read too many blogs as it is - the less out there to read, the better for me, right? Ha ha!!

Do you need to be whipped with a wet noodle to get you back into writing? 'Cause I'm sure I can find one somewhere... :)

Heather - I've tried doing the blogcation but I feel so out of touch. Hoping this way works better.

Linda G. - I didn't ask people not to spill the beans but keeping mum does let other readers try to figure themout, so thanks.

Mason - Hey, cool. I'll be over.

Julie - Thanks, all the way around.

Alex - You are my blogging idol. I'm in awe at how much you do.

mshatch - Bet you'll do a head slap when I give the answers on Monday.

Stacy - Hmm...how shall I answer that. *grin* No wet noodle needed. I have the incentive, just need to juggle the time. Hoping blogless Fridays will help.

I hope that posting on Mondays and Wednesdays works out better for you.

I did respond to your penguin concerns...

You're not alone LD. Plenty of us are making blogging schedule changes in order to get more time to write. In my case, I chose Fridays as blogging and visiting days. I trust it is just matter of getting organized. I'm still visiting you and fishing for your jokes. Dragon hugs!

heehee...I know those answers. No worries! I know that blogging pain. I'm trying to figure out how to cut to one day a week.

Happy Weekend to you and all your men :)

Robin - I went back and read your response about the penguin. It makes that video a lot more enjoyable knowing the little guy was actually enjoying himself. Thanks.

Al - It's a deal, Papa Dragon. I'll visit your Friday posts on Monday and you can visit my Monday and/or Wednesday on Friday. And we'll both get lots of writing done.

Carol - Don't you love knowing the answers? Good luck adjusting your blogging schedule and a very happy weekend to you, too.

Congratulations on the release and on a wise decision to cut down on posting time. I was forced to do that with all the travel, and now I find I'm quite happy posting only a couple of times a week. Or whenever I want.

And yay for me...I know I have all the right answers for the riddles. :D

LD Masterson said...

Patricia - Yay for you! And I'm glad to know so many of my blog friends are in the same boat.

I love generational pictures. People don't do enough of them.

Happy Father's Day to all your boys. :)

Congratulations on the release!
That picture is priceless L.D!
It's so funny because, over the past week, I've read lots of comments where writers complain about trying to manage writing/blogging... it's a delicate balance. I'm in the same boat.

Congratulations on the new release. In my opinion blogging doesn't really help to sell books, at least not more than Facebook and it definitely takes more time than the latter. I blog because I love to write other things than just novels and screenplays. And it helps with the money too. So, yes, I think you can blog less without feeling guilty :)

Congrats on your release!
I understand the decision to blog less, I'm cutting back slowly too, although I've mostly cut out Mondays.
Love your picture of the four dads in your family! We are celebrating on Sunday with my dad, my father-in-law, and my husband.

Trivia:
1. No answer.
2. Mt. Everest
3. ? I should know this . . .

Congrats on your book release! Must go purchase...
Riddles, which I love (and I haven't read any of the comments so I'm not cheating)
1) He weighs meat
2) Just because Mt. Everest hadn't been discovered, doesn't make it any less tall...
3) Um, holes don't have dirt...

Meat, Everest, none. See, blogging just once a week and your mind, too, can be as sharp as mine :) Seriously, Linda, If your focus at present is purely on writing I'd limit your blog to just once a week. Blogging and reading others' is fun. It's also a timesink. Good luck with the muse

Maria - The hard part is getting them all together in one place.

Michelle - Thanks. And it appears a lot of us are in that boat. We could start out own Navy.

Vanessa - I enjoy blogging and visiting blogs but the time commitment is a killer.

Tyrean - I thought of cutting Monday and keeping Friday but looking ahead, I'm going to be out of town so many Fridays this summer, I'd be down to one day a week. I can't say if your answers are correct until Monday so stop back by.

Tina - "Purchase"...what a delightful word. Thanks for your riddle answers. Check my Monday post to see if you got them all right.

Mike - In a way I'm cutting my posting to one and a half since my Wednesday "hump day" posts are just jokes and funny pictures. I hate to cut back my blog visits to once a week. I fear I'll miss so much.
