My Dream Destination

Hi. As I mentioned on Wednesday, I'm doing an extra post this week to take part in this fun blog hop - Dream Destination, hosted by Julie Flanders and Lexa Cain.

Both Julie and Lexa are celebrating release days this week so be sure to stop by and wish them well.

I'm cheating a little on my dream destination. I want to travel not only through space but also through time. Not far, just a month or so back.

My dream destination is Fenway Park, Boston. Home of my beloved Boston Red Sox.

Sure, I've been to Fenway before. I make the pilgrimage from Ohio every few years. But that's where the time travel comes in.

I want to be there on October 30 for game six of the 2013 World Series.
I want to see the Sox win the Championship at home for the first time in 95 years.

I want to be there for this.

And this.

See that cheering crowd. That's where I want to be.

Okay, can't happen. I know. But this blog hop is all about dreams, right?
Believe me, I've been there in my dreams.

Now stop by here or here for a complete list of those particiapating in the blog hop and check out some other bloggers' dream destinations.

Do you like mine?

Clever girl selecting a specific time! I didn't think to do that.

Though I'm not a baseball fan, it would certainly be wonderful to go back and see those monumental times. To be there in person, and feel the rush of adrenaline--Yes, that would be a fantastic dream destination. :)

YES! I DO like your dream destination. Very clever, and I understand your sentiments. I wouldn't mind traveling back to 1995 see the Braves win their one and only World Series again.(It doesn't appear too likely I'll never see them do it again in my lifetime.)

I'm not even a baseball fan and I totally get your desire to be their on that day.

Sometimes I think we live our lives in moments or snapshots of time. This would make for an excellent moment.

I'm tearing up just looking at the pics -- and I don't even like baseball! But there's something really cool about the Red Sox tradition & the fierce loyalty of the fans that gets me. Love it!

Hold on, let me tune up my time machine. ;)

I've been there, but not during a game. Then again, you just transported me to one. It was very exciting. Thanks, LD.

Happy Friday and weekend.

I love it! You're dreaming BIG. Next best thing you can do, write a story that takes place there!

Looking at the pics of the celebration and the joyous expressions on their faces put a big smile on mine. There's nothing to compare with the feeling of delight and communal spirit when your team wins something big. I loved your post, and thanks so much for joining the hop! :-)

Alex - Well, I'm still celebrating over here so it was easy.

Loni - Well, maybe my boys will give me another chance.

Susan F.S. - Don't give up hope. My dad waited 80 years to see the Sox win a World Series. Now he's seen them do it three times!

Robin - An excellent moment indeed.

Nicki - Yup, we Fenway Faithful love our Sox.

Crystal - Cool. Will you take me?

Robyn - If you ever get a chance, see a game at Fenway Park. It's just not like anywhere else.

Kim - But how would I top the one that just happened? *grin*

Lexa - My pleasure.

Your dream destination sure is original.

My brother got to go to one of the earlier games in the World Series this year. I was SO jealous! Hoping that you get to go next year when the Red Sox win again ;) ;)

Heather R. Holden said...

Well, it is a dream destination, so I don't see why time travel can't be involved! ;)

Suzi said...

Comments make me happy too, but you already left one on mine, so I won't make you do it twice. :)

I'm not the biggest baseball fan, but the World Series would be awesome. I guess for now I'll just have to stick to my son's games.

How perfect!!

Thanks for taking part in our Hop, LD! This entry really made me smile. If only time travel was possible.

Oh, clever pick LD. That sounds like a really fun time. Nice pick =)

Since we're dealing in dreams, I hope you get to live out yours. Special moments are worth cherishing, especially ones that bring such joy.

LD Masterson said...

Vanessa - Um, I hope you mean that as a good thing. *grin*

Julie - From your mouth to God's hear.

Heather - Thanks. That's what I thought.

Suzi - I've done lots of those kind, too. And they're just as special.

Julie - Thanks. I enjoyed the Hop.

Emilyann - Thanks. It kind of picked itself.

Kim - Well, I might not make the 2013 World Series, but I'm ready for the Sox to be there again in 2014.

Luanne G. Smith said...

Ahaha, great choice. Too bad there isn't a time machine with a 2013 World Series ticket waiting for you inside. Can't imagine what the excitement must have felt like at Fenway that night. :)

Bish Denham said...

Cool! That's a different and unique destination for sure.

Brilliant! Why not time travel too. Going backwards will be difficult, maybe you can go to the next championship game :)

Who doesn't want to go to Fenway Park in Boston. Actually, I've been to Boston and only drove past Fenway.

Unknown said...

Very cool. I can only imagine the wave of excitement that washed through that park. That would be really amazing to be part of that : )

Going back in time is a great idea for this Destination Hop!

So far, the most "unusual" choice I've seen on all the blog-hop blogs :)

Not much of a sports fan, but if there's one sports-related location I'd like to visit, it would be the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester.

Great post!

That is so funny you mentioned Boston and Fenway. I have some miles I had to used before the July and I have been to so many places, but never to Boston. I am booking it today and will definitely have to see Fenway.

LD Masterson said...

L.G. - Oh, I intended to transport myself straight into the park. No ticket necessary.

Bish - Thanks. Glad you like it.

Rhissanna - Thanks for following me. I've returned the favor.

Alexis - Thank you.

Rhonda - That's even better.

Cathrina - Oh, you've got to go back sometime and catch a game.

Millie - I think frenzied would be the word. Definitely something to experience, at least once.

cleemckenzie - Thanks.

Maynard - I hope you get to go there someday.

sydneyaaliyah - I hope the Sox are in town and you get to see a game.

Though I'm not a baseball fan, all the boys in my family are. I know that they would love going back in time to see their team win the World Series. Unfortunately, since they're Cubs fans, they would have to go way, way back! What an original idea LD!

Being from Missouri originally, I was rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals to win the series, so I think I'll skip this destination for now. Congratulations.

Jeremy - If I find a good time machine, I'll drop you off.

Shannon - Thank you.

Julie (ENI) - Ah, the poor Cubbies. It has been a long dry spell. We Sox fans understand these things.

Hilary - Thanks for sharing.

mshatch - Works for me. Let's go together.

Samantha - Ebay! Why didn't I think of that?

Michelle - Yeah, I'm a specific kind of gal.

Linda K. - Thanks. Me, too.

Chemist Ken - Sorry 'bout that.

Pk - I was thinking of that.

Sarah - As in Baseball, Mom, and apple pie?
