Hump Day Funnies - With Humps!

Happy Hump Day

And in honor of hump day, let's start with...

Once upon a time there was a very handsome male camel named Alfred with two huge camel humps.

He fell in love and married a beautiful female camel named Marie, who had one perfect camel hump.

As time progressed, they became the proud parents of a wonderful baby boy camel, born with no humps.

They thought long and hard on what to call their beautiful
little boy and finally decided on...

Humpfree!

I know, I know. I should be ashamed of myself.

I know many of you can appreciate this right now.

Here's a phone conversation you might enjoy.

 'Hello, is this Father O'Malley?'
'It is.'
'This is the IRS. Can you help us?'
'I can.'
'Do you know a Ted Houlihan?'
 'I do.'
'Is he a member of your congregation?'
 'He is.'
'Did he donate $10,000 to the church?'
 'He will.'

This next one isn't really a hump day funny but I wanted to share it.

This is my grandson standing by our Christmas tree in 1999.

Here he is by this year's tree.

We still get the same size tree.

Sigh.

Don't worry, I didn't forget your "aw".

Last time I gave you a mouse. About about a loving pair of squirrels?

 Worked for me.

Okay, are we there? Over the hump and sliding toward the weekend?
Excellent. Hope your weekend is a great one.
See you next Wednesday.

Question for Today:

What should you do if you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?

Bad camel pun!
I think you need a bigger tree...

I know it wasn't the "point" but the camel with no humps was pretty darn adorable.

As for your grandson... it's always shocking to see them grow. Now I understand all of those annoying comments from people who hadn't seen me in six months to a year while I was growing up. They never could resist saying something like, "My, how you've grown." Now I find myself uttering similar things. Yikes!

I know who's praying for the snow--my son! Afraid he won't stop, either. Ah, but what do you expect from a kid who was born in Alaska?

Love that Father O'Malley joke!

Re: Drake
If I didn't know any better, I'd say that picture of him is Photoshopped. Wow!

Do you think he'll be taller than his father?

Ha, great camel pun. Loved those cutie-pie squirrels too. Happy hump day!

I love your hump day funnies and your aw moments! You are so awesome. I wish you a wonderful 2014 filled with all the great things life has to offer.

I loved the joke about the donation for $10,000. That was pretty good.

Oh my what a comparison picture of your grandson! Sigh-- makes me want to break out into a chorus of "Sunrise, Sunset".

I loved all your funnies! My hubby (an Egyptian) especially liked the camel joke! Thanks so much for making us laugh.

Love the pics of your grandson - they do grow far too quickly!! :)

It's been a crappy kind of a day so thank you for making it brighter!! :)

Your grandson sure grew! I love the camel joke. Thanks for the laugh!

I love all your entries but your two squirrels really brought to mind an "aw" moment for sure!

Love the camel pun. (My kinda humor, too!) As for your grandson, those kids have an annoying way of growing up too fast, don't they? One day, they're learning how to walk, and the next, they're going to a prom. Sheesh. I wish they'd slow down just a little.

Thanks for the chuckles and the awwww. Worked for me, too!

You had me laughing at Humpfree. Good one, LD. And I can see who gets the honor of placing a star on the top of the Christmas tree.

Thanks for a great dose of giggles.

Be well.

The camel story made me chuckle.
It's a shame how quickly the little ones grow up, I'm savouring the moments while my children are small.

Thanks for this weeks funnies!

Alex - I know. (hangs head in shame) And our tree is already 6.5 to 7 feet.

Linda G. - I thought of you when I found it.

mood - But it's a good groaner.

Robin - Yeah, he's adorable. (the baby camel, not my oversize grandson)

Stacy - Well, at least now we know who to blame.

Maria - Nope, not Photoshopped. And he already is. Matt topped out at 6' 3 1/2"; Drake was 6' 4" at his last check up.

Cate - Thanks. Glad you liked them.

Murees - The very best 2014 to you too.

Julie - Oh, please don't. That song always makes me cry.

Lexa - My pleasure.

Jemi - That's what I'm here for.

Emily - You're welcome.

cd - Yeah, they got me, too.

Susan F. S. - I love the line" We spend the first couple years of our kids' lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next 18 telling them to sit down and shut up.

Robyn - Actually, he wasn't around when I decorated the tree so I did it. Balanced on a chair.

Heather - Enjoy every minute.

I used to love squirrels. Now I'm ambivalent. Just down the street they've invaded loft space and have chewed up all the electrical wiring. Now they're moving up the street...it's only a matter of time!

Dang those are some cute as hell squirrels!

Hahahaha!!!! I needed a little joy today, LD! Too funny... thanks for the laugh. :) :) :)

Oh my. Humpfree...

As always, thanks for the laugh. That was GREAT!

The second Christmas picture looks photoshopped. The tree looks so small.

Aw!

The camels had a llama. I love llamas!

Heather R. Holden said...

No need to feel ashamed for the "Humpfree" punchline--I thought it was quite funny!

And wow, your grandson has gotten tall!

Aw! Humpfree! Too funny. And your grandson has grown up so much. I loved the aw moment. Great post LD =)

Now that is a tricky question.

I love your jokes. And what a handsome young man your grandson is!

At 1am, Humpfree is funny. Those grandkids do grow quickly, don't they? My three are sprouting like weeds!

Well, what the... I just came back to answer the comments that were left since I answers the others on Saturday and my last batch of answers is gone. I know I answered down to Emilyann. Has anyone else had this problem. Well let's try this again. I'm going to answer just a couple at a time in case I lose some again.

Mike - My complaint is what they do to my bird feeders. The little suckers will chew through wood and plastic. I'm forever replacing feeders.

Carol - And giggle.

mshatch - Yeah, that's why I forgive them for chewing up my bird feeders (see answer to Mike above).

LD Masterson said...

Morgan - My pleasure

Crystal - Glad you enjoyed.

Susan G/K - Nope, not photoshopped, although he was standing in front of the tree so he was closer to the camera. The tree was about six and a half feet. My grandson is 6'4".

Diane - That's a llama? Oops. Hey, don't tell anyone, okay?

LD Masterson said...

Heather - Well, I wasn't really too ashamed. *grin*

Liz - You're welcome.

Emilyann - Thank you. Glad you liked it.

Pk - Hey, you're the first person who commented on the question. No suggestions? (I better not let my grandson read this post; he'll get a swelled head.)

LD Masterson said...

Jeff - Aw, only at 1 a.m.?

Sarah - I thought it was funnier before it snowed here again.

All - okay, let's hope my replies stay put this time.
