Happy Hump Day
It's a beautiful spring day here in SW Ohio and I'm about to abandon my computer for a garden that's calling my name.
But first, a little something to get you over the mid week hump.
Ever wonder what dog selfies look like?
Ellen's Oscar selfie has nothing on these.
I feel for this guy.
Don't you?
I was hunting for a good dog joke to go with today's pictures but I found this one instead.
"Just put yourself in my hands for one year," said the shrink. "Three session a week and we should be able to get rid of those fears."
"How much do you charge?" I asked.
"Eighty dollars per visit," replied the doctor.
"I'll sleep on it," I said.
Six months later I ran into the doctor on the street.
"Why didn't you come to see me about those fears you were having?" he asked.
"Well, eighty bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money. A bartender cured me for $10."
The doc got all huffy and said, "Is that so? How, may I ask, did a bartender cure you?"
"He told me to cut the legs off the bed. Ain't nobody under there now."
I like a simple, low cost solution.
Have you seen those People of Walmart pictures?
Nuff said.
Okay, I stayed with dog pictures for your "aw" but I have to admit it's the expession on the kid's face that got me.
Did you say it?
Now, something special. I'm pleased to be part of the cover reveal for
WHO R U REALLY?
Thea's
overprotective parents are driving her insane. They invade her privacy, ask too
many questions, and restrict her online time so severely that Thea feels she
has no life at all. When she discovers a new role-playing game online, Thea
breaks the rules by staying up late to play. She's living a double life: on one
hand, the obedient daughter; on the other, a girl slipping deeper into
darkness. In the world of the game, Thea falls under the spell of Kit, an older
boy whose smarts and savvy can't defeat his loneliness and near-suicidal
despair. As Kit draws soft-hearted Thea into his drama, she creates a full
plate of cover stories for her parents and then even her friends.
Soon, Thea
is all alone in the dark world with Kit, who worries her more and more, but
also seems to be the only person who really "gets" her. Is he
frightening, the way he seems sometimes, or only terribly sad? Should Thea fear
Kit, or pity him? And now, Kit wants to come out of the screen and bring Thea
into his real-life world. As much as she suspects that this is wrong, Thea is
powerless to resist Kit's allure, and hurtles toward the same dark fate her
parents feared most. Ripped from a real-life story of Internet stalking, Who R
U Really? will excite you and scare you, as Thea's life spins out of
control.

Congratulations, Margo!
Those dog pictures are awesome.
Congrats to Margo. Like the dog selfies and the taking care of the lurker under the bed.
I thought the punch line of the joke was going to be to buy a dog. But the real punch line was better!
Congrats, Margo!
I love that first set of photos! How original and creative.
Congrats to Margo.
Oh. My. Gosh. Your funnies ALWAYS make me laugh! And thank you SO MUCH for sharing my cover. I really appreciate it!!! And thanks for the comments. :)
That's actually quite an ingenious solution to monsters under the bed.

Moody Writing
Alex - glad you liked them.
Susan G/K - Hey, whatever works.
Carol - I guess having a dog the sleeps under the bed would work.
Diane - I agree. Those were great.
Margo - my pleasure.
mood - and less expensive.
"I think I made a mistake." Ha! And congrats to Margo - this sounds like an awesome read :)
Congrats, Margo. That story sounds intense!
Re: dog pictures
I used to ignore selfies--until I saw these. Definitely lifted my day from the dumpster.
Great mid-week funnies, as always. I especially like the one about chopping the legs off the bed.
Congrats to Margo on the cool cover and upcoming release.
mshatch - Yup, it sure does.
Maria - Always glad to get someone out of a dumpster.
Susan F.S. - Simple solutions...
Margo's book sounds frighteningly realistic! Bet it's gripping.
Also, awww and LOL! (As usual.)
I was thinking the same thing.... sort of... Buy a platform bed.... lol.
Yes, I awed.Too cute!
CONGRATS to MARGO!!!!!
Congratulations to Margo. The story sounds intriguing. Wishing her much success.
Love the photos and the under the bed joke. So true about buying a dog too. Thanks for the laughs.
Congratulations to Margo!!
I love those doggie selfies... and the one in pink rollers!
But the kid with those gorgeous chubby cheeks that make you want to just kiss them non-stop... awwwwwww!
That one wins - hands down!
Thanks for the smile. :D
I can thank The Twilight Zone for creeping me out about things under my bed. lol
Linda G. - I bet you're right.
Michael - See, you wouldn't need a shrink either.
Mason - My pleasure.
Michelle - No argument here. That face did it for me.
Donna - For me it was the Twilight Zone where a portal to another dimension opened up in the wall of a kid's bedroom and she fell through. I couldn't go near the wall of my room for weeks.
I love that first pic. The big dog is a Weimaraner, the breed we had until recently and probably my favorite breed of dog. Love them.
Congrats and best to Margo-- sounds great.
Loved your jokes. The hammock photo is hilarious. And I didn't see that bartender punchline coming.
Congrats Margo.
Yup, I agree with most people here. The joke was right up my street. I think, too, Margo's story hits upon every parent's anxiety
OMG! I love the dog selfies pic!! They're so adorable!! The joke and the other dog pics are awesome, too. Thanks so much for putting a big smile on my face. :-D
Margo's book sounds really good. Thanks for the intro, LD.
Love the dog pics and that joke was funny. The selfie really cracked me up.
Now that book sounds scary. I was a bit breathless reading the blurb. Stalking is very frightening stuff.
I think the dog selfies are my favorite from now on. And if bartenders are better than shrinks, then why my dwarves haven't managed to solve my problems?
The poor guy in the hammock!!! The baby is priceless though :)
Congrats to Margo - and good luck. What a chilling premise!
All the pictures are funny! And Margo's book sounds very good.
As always, you always know how to make me smile. Congratulations to Margo.
I'm with Murees. As always, you've made me laugh aloud more than once. And as always, I don't have a favorite part of your post; it's all laughter inducing.
Plus, I appreciate the interesting snippet about Margo's book. Congratulations and much luck to her.
Be well, LD.

Love the dog theme this post has! Those dog selfies are especially priceless... :P
Dog selfies are way better than people selfies!!

BUT, better late than never. I love dogs. Those selfies are hilarious. AND, yes I did say it.
Seeing Margo all over the place. I'll have to check her out.

Rhoda - Glad you liked them.

Lexa - My pleasure.
Patricia - You're welcome.
Robin - I agreed. Terrifying.
Al - Um, because dragons aren't scared of someone under their bed?
Jemi - I'd love to see a video of someone trying to extract that poor guy from the hammock.
Marcia - Thanks.
Murees - Hey, that's what I'm here for.
Robyn - Thanks. You too.

Liz - Oh, definitely. Way better.
Morgan - Thank you!
farawayeyes - Hope you have a great weekend.
Great story. Sometimes the simple solution is the best...but it takes someone else to point it out.
Love the dog/kid picture.

Hi LD, I'm glad you read the post I put on my Mommy's site the other night. My puppy dog eyes usually work wonders and get her all the time. :) She shmushes my face, rubs behind my ears and tells me how much she loves me. Oh, and then she kisses me all over my face, even on my nose! Then she'll go back to one-handed belly rubs while she does homework or her stories.
Who are those doggies in the selfie? It's a nice picture, but neither one of them looks like a Sophie. Thank you for visiting me! Eva's baby Sophie
I loved the dog pictures, especially the 'selfies' - LOL.
I'm all for cheap cures, too. It's surprising how much people are willing to be taken for when they could find a simple solution.
Wishing Margo every success.
lilica's Sophie - You're right, those dogs in the selfies are just friends. Maybe mom will post pictures of me next time cuz I'm really cute. ~ LD's Sophie
Fanny - Thanks. Me, too.
LOL! I love it. Your Wednesday posts are my favorite Wed. feature. I always look forward to the laughs.
Crystal - I'm glad I could provide some.
