Happy Day-after-Halloween

Note: this was going to be my Halloween post but a flooded basement threw me off schedule so...Happy Day-after-Halloween.

Here are some funnies for you in keeping with the holiday.

Our neighborhood does an annual Halloween parade and the local high school marching band joins in, with the students all in costumes. This year, a couple band moms uncovered a box of old guard (flag corps) uniforms. Add a little makeup and the band this year was followed by...

Zombie Band Moms!

Now that's the stuff Halloween nightmares are made of.

And before you ask, no I am not in that group.
But my daughter-in-law is.

Moving on...

Halloween and graveyards always seem to go together.
Here are a few actual headstones, mixed in with a few pictures that seemed to fit.

Harry Edsel Smith of Albany, New York:
Born 1903--Died 1942.

Looked up the elevator shaft to see if the

car was on the way down. It was.

Bad move, Harry.

Here lies an Atheist, all dressed up
and no
place to go.

Think about it.

Here lies Johnny Yeast.
Pardon him
for not rising.

A headstone groaner.

Yeah, we all know that feeling.

Here lays The Kid,
We planted him raw.

He was quick on the trigger,

But slow on the draw.

Eternally bad poetry.

 Okay, shifting gears here.

I have a challenge for you.

Give me your best caption for this picture.
(I may even come up with a prize.)

If it helps, this gentleman's name is Buster.
He's one of my grandpuppies.

And even though Buster might have gotten an "aw"
(more likely a giggle or a snicker)
I still have your regular "aw" of the week.

 Everybody needs a buddy.

Okay, that's it for now. Did you find something in here to make to smile?
Giggle? Chuckle? Laugh out loud?

I hope so. Did you have a favorite?

Don't forget to leave your caption for Buster's picture.

Thought for Today:

Buster: Oh man, I knew I shouldn't have eaten that last KitKat.

Oh, and I saw Kim in the picture! :)

Hope your basement problems are solved and everything is okay. Buster is adorable. I couldn't help but think this (I hope Traveler forgives me).... Man, that last cat I ate was a little bigger than usual. Does it make me look fat?

Loved the 'aw' photo. Buddies are a great thing.

So sorry about the basement :(

Happy Day after Halloween!

Flooded basement - sorry! That sucks.
Funny images.
I think Buster is saying Rub my tummy. Not funny, but probably true.

Ouch for the flooded basement. Funny tombstones. "Buster nearly busted a gut."

Let's keep Halloween going! That sucks about your basement. Hope you had nothing important stored down there?

Stacy - Good one. And yup, she was a zombie band mom. They worked my some flag routines and everything. What a hoot.

Mason - LOL. I love that. With apologies to Traveler.

Nancy - These were even energetic zombies.

Marcy - No worries. My grandson came over and helped with the cleanup.

Alex - A minor problem in the grand scheme of things. Buster is always saying rub my tummy. That dog lives for tummy rubs and chasing his rubber ball.

Susan G/K - Ha! He does look like that, doesn't he?

Stephanie - Unfortunately, half of it is finished with rugs and such, so it's a bit of a hassle but all under control. And, sorry, but I'm already turning my attention to Thanksgiving, which is also my eldest grandson's 18th birthday. Big doings this fall in our family.

Oh no! I's so sorry your basement flooded.

I love that one of the little dog and the cat behind him.

Lots of good ones. The Johnny Yeast headstone and the zombie cat especially tickled my funny bone, but I really like your thought for the day at the end, too.

As for a caption: "Peel me some grapes, woman."

Diane - My poor Sophie looks like that a lot. She's not terribly brave.

Susan F.S. - LOL Peel me a grape was the first thing I thought of. Great minds and all that.

I'm a band mom, too! Those are super cute pics and great jokes :)

Haha! Zombie moms are funny!

Buster: "Find me the remote and then bring me a beer."

Thanks for dropping by my blog. The internet company I usually use came back after 3 day, but it could've been 3 weeks for all I knew. I couldn't leave all my friends in suspense that long, wondering what happened to me. Especially on a Friday when I do a lot of social media for my blog hop, FB and Twitter.

Hi LD - sorry to read about the flooded basement - hope it's a one off challenge ... good luck with clearing it up and sorting it out.

Wonderful band - they must have had so much fun ... lots of laughs ... and then a good sleep from laughing exhaustion ...

If I saw Buster like that ... I'd say he'd better wake up with a duster in his hand ready to rock and roll - can't be a dog-sloth! Cheers Hilary

Are we channeling each other? Mine was a busted valve. We're still living with no water until tonight.

Inconvenient, but at least it's not cold.

Hope you dry out soon too!

LOL! Those epitaphs... Oh man.

So captions:
"What? You wanted to sit down?"

"All the couches!"

Guess my brain is a little taxed from the blog tour stuff, but as always, thanks for the chuckles.

Love the Zombie Moms photo! Sorry about your basement. Great captions, but Susan's one about grape peeling is my favorite!

Sorry about your basement. That's not a good situation to apply the "glass is refillable" quote.

"Poor buster. Can't get any action even when he advertises the goods."

Carol Kilgore said...

Hope your basement problems have been fixed. Love Buster :)

Alexia - I spend 7 years as a band mom and now I'm working my way through being a band Nana. But I wasn't one of those zombies.

Lexa - Of course he'd want the remote. He's a guy. lol. I'm glad you were able to get a quick fix to your no-Internet, even if you did have to go to another provider.

Hilary - I need to post a better shot of Buster's face. If you saw how he uses those big puppy dog eyes, you'd know how he gets away with being a lazy boy on the Lazy Boy.

Maria - Were you totally without water? That's the pits. Secondary annoyance - right in the middle of the cleanup, our wet vac burned out. Had to buy a new one.

Crystal - Love those captions. I can hear him saying the first one.

Julie - No argument on Susan's caption. You guys left some great ones.

Robyn - LOL!!! I didn't even make the connection between the "glass is refillable" quote and our flood (I had it picked out beforehand). And poor Buster may have the goods but his parents are pretty careful to make sure he doesn't get the opportunity.

Carol - Yup, the plumbers has done their thing. I just have to finish cleaning up.
