Hump Day Funnies and Brain Teasers

Happy Hump Day

I'm late posting today and I have no good excuse whatsoever.  Unless reading a good book instead of taking care of business is an acceptable excuse.

Of course, this isn't a usual Hump Day since many of us have a holiday tomorrow but for everyone else...

How about a little mixture of funnies and brain teasers today?  Whatever it takes to get you over the mid week hump and coasting to the weekend.

First, a gift to you.

Hee hee hee.

Okay, here's a better picture.

Babies are fluent in puppy-speak? Who knew?

Now for a brain teaser. I think this was easy for me because we used to use these letter/number combinations for computer passwords at work.  Does it work for you?

7H15  M3554G3 53RV35  7O PR0V3 H0W  0UR  M1ND5 C4N D0 4M4Z1NG 7H1NG5! 1MPR3551V3 7H1NG5!

W17H0U7 3V3N 7H1NK1NG 4B0U7 17.

Almost scary, isn't it?

How about a lesson in cat care?

Of course, this assumes you want to catch a cat. I'm not sure why you would but then, I'm a dog person.
(My apologies to you cat lovers.)

One more brain teaser. A new riddle for you but with the answer included this time.

You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed.
On your right side is a sharp drop off.
And on your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you.
Directly in front of you is another galloping horse but your horse is unable to overtake it.
Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the horse in front of you.
What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

Wait for it....

Wait for it....

Get your drunken self off the merry-go-round.

Okay, I admit it. That wasn't a riddle, it was a groaner!

Time for your "aw" moment.

Here's a mother and son picture that's sure to do the trick.

  I know I said it.

Did that do it? Did we get you over the hump? Great! My work here is done.

Did you have a favorite?

I do have one other question. Everyone seemed to enjoy the riddles I posted the last couple Wednesdays.  Would you like to see more or is it time to move on?  I like my Hump Day posts to be fun and entertaining so I'd really like your feedback. More riddles or let it go for a while?

Have a great Fourth of July and a fantastic weekend.

I think of all those.rides at Disneyland shut down to clean up the vomit. Yeah, I am sure alcohol plays a role in most of them.

Felines are not my favorites... give me the doggies!
I liked the cryptic letter/number combinations... great stuff!

Oh I'm glad I stopped by. I needed the smiles (and groan). And reading a good book is never, ever a bad reason for anything dropped. Read on, my friend!

They're all my favorites!!!

I like dogs and cats. Does that make me strange?

Have a good holiday weekend!!! Hope it doesn't rain.

Mark Means said...

Haha...a 'groaner', indeed! I sat here for a few minutes trying to figure it out, too...lol.

Thanks for the 'pick me up' and have a great Fourth!

Your excuse works for me.
That was scary that I could read that.
I guess if you had a cat infestation, a box would help!

Thanks for the laughs. You made my day!

I like riddles and see no reason to stop posting them. And the pics of the mom and puppy are cuuuuute! I usually shut up my thin self with cookies too. Works every time.

Nice bunch, as usual. BTW, I shut that skinny witch up with chocolate. Seems to work for her.

I enjoy all the riddles, funnies, and AWWWW pictures. They're always entertaining without taxing the ol' gray matter. Kinda like a mental respite.

And if you were reading a good book, no excuse is needed. Heck, no excuse is EVER needed... this is your doggone blog. Enjoy!

Happy 4th!

Enjoyed the riddle and was a little bothered that I was able to read the code lines -_-. What does that mean?

Loved the doggie photo bu the line about the skinny woman crying to out is right up my alley, especially if chocolate is thrown in the mix :-)

My brain totally can do that sort of thing. Probably because I read so much. Yes, riddles, brain teasers, groaners, AW, whatever. It's all fun. And I'd never get on a merry-go-round, drunk or not. I have extreme motion sickness.

The number and letter thing is easier for me when it is in Spanish but I think I could make it fairly well. The puzzle that was not puzzle had me thinking on jumping over the elephant. Or just flying. Anyway I'm a dragon. Dragons can fly. I'm also a dog person...erh, dragon. :D

LD Masterson said...

Susan F.S. - Yup, that's me. A respite site.

Angela - I don't know what it means but we're in the same boat.

Tina - I can handle a merry-go-round but not a Ferris Wheel. It's the height that gets me.

Al - Ah, dragons have a lot more options. I imagine a little burst of flame would have moved the lead horse out of your way, too.

Heather R. Holden said...

Aww, those doggies at the end are way too cute! (I'm also a dog-person, heh.)

Mike Keyton said...

You have no idea how relieved I was when I realised your riddle was a groaner - nor how much I resent the time wasted trying to work that one out...Okay, I'm stupid, I didn't scroll/read down. :)

Nicki Elson said...

How do you manage to come up with so much funny every time? Thank you for sifting through all the "meh" to bring us only the very best. I find I quite enjoy stopping by on Fridays to get my weekend off to a happy start. :)

So far I've enjoyed the riddles, and if I ever get tired of them, I'll just skip 'em, so no worries about stopping them on my account.

BTW, I considered myself a cat person until a few weeks ago when I went to a pet store and every single one of the orange kittens hissed at me. It was like a cage full of furry snakes. Nightmare worthy, for sure.

You're always bursting with playful energy, LD. I like the mind game and all the rest. I'm constantly shutting up the hysterical skinny woman inside of me.

Hope you're having a great holiday weekend.

I love that cat in the box set of photos. My cat does the same thing with boxes, bags, and my suitcases.

Loved these, especially the nude picture. LOL I came early this AM to see what you had for this week, and am glad I found these from last week. I was not online last Wednesday, so I missed them. Have a great day. I'm off to drama camp in just a bit.

As a mother going through potty training right now, I love the dog and baby one. ;)

LD Masterson said...

Heather - Me, too. Puppies rule.

Mike - No you're not. I did the same thing when a friend e-mailed it to me.

Nicki - I'm glad you're enjoying my funnies. And see why I like dogs. They never hiss.

Robyn - Those internal skinny types are so annoying.

Cate - Well, I'm late but I hope yours was, too.

Patricia - Does your cat invite friends in?

nutschell - Glad you liked them.

Maryann - Well, I'm glad I missed this week so you could see last week's.

Kimberly - Oh, I don't envy you the potty training routine.
