Back From Vacation or A Soggy Blog

Happy Hump Day

I hope everyone got through last week without your hump day funnies to help you along.

Hubby and I were in Puerto Rico with my eldest and his family, enjoying the kids' spring break.  It was the perfect getaway from the end of a long cold winter.

We spent time on the ocean.

And in the ocean.

And even in a pool that overlooked the ocean.

(We're at the edge of the pool. The darker blue behind is the ocean below us.)

Alas, all great things must come to an end, and that includes vacations.
So here we are, back to the daily grind and needing a little something to get us over the midweek hump.

Hey, do you know the difference between friendship among men and friendship among women?

Friendship among Women:   A woman didn't come home one night. The next morning she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house.  The man called his wife's 10 best friends.  None of them knew anything about it.

Friendship among Men:
A man didn't come home one night. The next morning he told his wife that he had slept over at a friend's house.  The woman called her husband's 10 best friends.  Eight confirmed that he had slept over, and two said he was still there.

Nah, I don't think that's true. Do you?

In keeping with my earlier pool picture, I think these guys have the right idea.

How about a couple kid jokes?
 Here's one.

As I was nursing my baby, my cousin's six-year-old daughter, Krissy, came into the room. Never having seen anyone breast feed before, she was intrigued  and full of all kinds of questions about what I was doing.

After mulling over my answers, she remarked, “My mom has some of those, but I don't think she knows how to use them.”

We took a ton of pictures while we were gone (aren't you glad I'm not making you look at them all). Sometimes I think the kids started to feel like this.

Hey, it's hard to keep holding that smile.

Here's kid joke two.

Working as a pediatric nurse, I had the difficult assignment of giving immunization shots to children. One day, I entered the examining room to give four-year-old Lizzie her injection.

“No, no, no!” she screamed.

“Lizzie,” scolded by her mother, "that's not polite behavior.”

With that, the girl yelled even louder, “No, thank you! No, thank you!"

 Well...it's polite.

I wanted to try to stay with the vacation theme for all of today's pictures and I even found one for your "aw".
Naturally, on vacation, a guy wants to kick back and put his feet up.

I think he's got it.

Are we there? Over the hump? I hope so.
(My midweek is a little off because we just got back so today feels like Monday to me.)

I'm still working my way through the 583 e-mails that arrived while I was gone so forgive me if it takes me a couple days to visit everyone.

Have a great week/weekend. See you here next Wednesday.

Question for Today:

Looks like it was a wonderful vacation. The 'aw' photo is perfect and the jokes always make me laugh. I especially like the difference in men and women's friendship groups. Glad you're back safe and sound.

Great pics! Looks like you had a fantastic time.

Welcome back to the real world. :)

I'm so envious of your vacation. Still feels like it will never warm up here. I think that joke about men and women is probably true.

Welcome back. That pool pic is awesome with the ocean behind it. Beyond that, it looks like EVERYONE had a fabulous time.

I think the man/woman joke was spot on. Or very funny anyway.

Thanks for the chuckles.

Wow, what fun you had on vacation. Good for you. I loved the "aw" picture and the quote for the day. I totally agree.

Looks like you had fun. I've only stopped at San Juan on a cruise, but I could see me spending more days there.

Loved the Aw photo! Almost makes me want a puppy. Almost. :)

I love the ocean. You guys look like you had a great time.

Sadly, I think the friendship thing is partly true, though I do have really good friends who would lie for me...and then kick my butt from here to next week!

That grinning dog is a riot!
And how did those three dogs get in the floating turtle?
Looks like you had a great time. How freaky was that pool?

Mason - Thanks. My only problem with the friendship joke is I have a number of friends I'd happily cover for.

Linda G. - It was great. Thanks.

Susan G/K - We actually came home to nice weather. Things warmed up while we were gone.

Robin - The pool was outstanding. Never been in one quite like it.

Maryann - I've been using that "fridge light" excuse for years.

Stacy - We hit San Juan on a cruise years ago but this was much better.

Elizabeth - Those butt kicking friends are the best kind.

Alex - I wondered the same thing about the three dogs. The pool was awesome. You could rest on the edge and watch the surf coming in right below.

Ah, the ocean! I envy you just a little. Okay, a lot. The dog with the smile is one of a kind but I love the ones on the turtle most. Dragon Hugs and welcome back!

Welcome back! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun... :)

Also, those dogs in the pool are so precious! And that last pic...awwww. *dies of cuteness*

How's the weather by you now?

Hope you had a wonderful vacation.

Nana makes a similar face. Cracks us up every time.

Looks like the perfect vacation—gorgeous ocean and pool! Glad you had such a wonderful and relaxing trip.

Thanks for the laugh! I love the one about breast feeding—kids say the darndest things! :)

Welcome back (although after those jealous-making sun-&-surf pix, it's hard to sympathize about your soggy return).

Love the little awww guy.

Caryn Caldwell said...

Ha! I love the "No thank you!" yelling in response to immunizations. :-D

Glad you had a great trip! I loved the pictures!

LD Masterson said...

Al - Thanks. I'm landlocked at home so being on the ocean was a special treat.

Heather - Well, I don't want anyone to die but, yeah, he's just that cute.

Maria - We came home to better weather. Highs in the 50s - 60s. Not as good as San Juan though. You've got to send me a picture of Nana making that face.

Kristin - I so wish I'd followed my kids and even my grandkids around with a recorder when they were little.

Kaye - Thanks. We really did have fun.

Barb - Aw, I had to show off just a little. Would it help if I admitted I forgot to wear sunscreen the first day and got toasted? I'm at the peeling stage now.

Caryn - And now she knows even those "magic" words don't always help.

That story about the little girl made me think of my granddaughter when we took her shopping to get a toy. She kept saying "Thank you so much; that is so helpful." You can hear her mother in the comment.

I'm glad you had a great vacation! Thanks for sharing your wonderful family photos! My favorite line was from the six-year-old, "My mom has some of those, but I don't think she knows how to use them." Hahaha! Glad you're back, LD!

LD Masterson said...

Diane J. - Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics.

Julie - Thanks. The greatest lines always come from kids.

Vanessa - You could try to squeeze in next to the turtle. It does look inviting.

Mike - Unfortunately, my answer is - have a snack!

How i got my boyfriend back.Am Stacey Bruno by name I never believed in love spells or magic until I met this spell caster once when i went to see my friend in Indian this year on a business summit. I meant a man who's name is Dr ATILA he is really powerful and could help cast spells to bring back one's gone, lost, misbehaving lover and magic money spell or spell for a good job or luck spell .I'm now happy & a living testimony cos the man i had wanted to marry left me 5 weeks before our wedding and my life was upside down cos our relationship has been on for 3years. I really loved him, but his mother was against us and he had no good paying job. So when i met this spell caster, i told him what happened and explained the situation of things to him. At first i was undecided, skeptical and doubtful, but i just gave it a try. And in 7 days when i returned to Canada, my boyfriend (now husband) called me by himself and came to me apologizing that everything had been settled with his mom and family and he got a new job interview so we should get married. I didn't believe it cos the Dr ATILA only asked for my name and my boyfriends name and all i wanted him to do. Well we are happily married now and we are expecting our little kid, and my husband also got the new job and our lives became much better. His email is: atilahealinghome@yahoo.com
